Tiffany & Co. was founded in 1837 by Charles Tiffany and Teddy Young. It was originally a stationary and goods emporium called Tiffany, Young and Ellis located in lower Manhattan. Unlike other retailers at the time, Tiffany did not allow haggling and clearly marked each item with its intended price. They also only accepted cash payment. To celebrate their 175th anniversary this year, they've created a new metal by mixing gold, silver and copper. Called Rubedo, it is being introduced for a limited edition series of Tiffany 1837 designs hallmarked with founder Charles Lewis Tiffany's signature. Happy Anniversary, Little Blue Box.

ReplyDeleteIsn't Tiffany blue just the best color ever?! I'm still waiting for my first little blue box. It's worth the wait though.
