Be Classy.

Be Classy.

Being classy is not about having money. (I do realize the some of the pieces in this set are insanely expensive though. That necklace?! $$$$$$ Yikes! Sorry about that. It's purely unintentional. But remember, this is my dream and I do not have an expense account when I dream...) Being classy is about having morals & values, style & grace, manners & brains... And wearing a classy peplum definitely helps! What is a peplum? Dictionary.com says that it is a short, full flounce or an extension of a garment below the waist. I tend to think of as a short skirt or ruffle that's added to the waist of a shirt of jacket. I'm not sure who is responsible for creating the first peplum, but Christian Dior brought the peplum into high fashion in 1947 when his first collection debuted in Paris. (Coined The New Look by others.) The peplum came back into fashion the 1980s in response to those giant shoulder pads. (Remember those?!) And the peplum is back in fashion once again. Some people are happy about that; others are not...What I love about peplums is that they actually give me the appearance of having a figure! I'm quite thin and rather straight up and down. Peplums give me the appearance of a tiny waist with real child-bearing hips! For someone who has lived her life with a boyish figure, this is ALL good. :) Enjoy your Saturday. I'm off for a run.. That is, as soon as I add a peplum to my t-shirt!

  2. I love peplums. And you are so right that being classy has nothing to do with having money!
