Bring Sunshine & Cute Shoes

Bring Sunshine & Cute Shoes

In the Pacific NW, it rains. A lot. And crappy weather is easily one of the most talked about issues of all time. Just watch the local news. Weather every 5 minutes.. But why is that?! It's not as though our weather varies much day to day. It's quite predictable actually. It has something to do with the Pacific Ocean, the Olympic Mountains, the Cascade Mountains, and the Rockies. (For more details, do your own research. A meteorologist I am not...) A typical 7-day forecast looks something like this: rain, rain showers, sun breaks, AM showers/PM sun, partly cloudy, rainy, soggy, dreary... Get the idea? I have friends who suffer from SAD, which I believe stands for Seek and Destory... Wait. No. That's wrong. It stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder. SO fancy! Which leads me to the quote in my set above. In a random, round-about way.. We cannot control the weather, much to our dismay. But we can control our reactions to it. (And take vitamin D.) We can remain positive and bring our own sunshine. As Norman Vincent Peale said, "The person who sends out positive thoughts activates the world around him positively and draws back to himself positive results." So you see, if we remain positive, bright and cheery through the storm, positive, bright and cheery will come back to us. (Not in the form of good weather unfortunately..) Brightly colored clothing, accessories and cute shoes will help too. :) So grab your sunglasses and sandals and go play in mud puddles with a big giant smile of your face!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
